Of course, it is smaller than the bottom area of the tent or there are too many stones at the bottom that cannot be cleaned. This situation is quite complex and needs to be flexibly applied according to the geographical situation at that time.
a. If the bottom is uneven and there is no thick floor mat, it is easy to damage the bottom. Generally, dry grass or leaves can be used to spread and fill the bottom.
b. If the camping area is too small and cannot be cleaned, there is no way but to support the tent and sleep flat in any place. The key is not to suspend the bottom of the tent to avoid crushing the bottom cloth.
c. This situation is quite special. Once, when camping at the mountaintop, I searched around and found a flat piece of land. In the middle, there was a big stone protruding, and with a knife, it took root underneath. I couldn't help but sleep. Obviously, if the tent is directly pressed against the stone, the hanging cloth is easily torn apart. The method used is to tighten the tent pole as much as possible when supporting the tent, and even use a few stones to press the tent pole to make its amplitude bend more. This result is that the fabric at the bottom of the tent is not stretched out and is relatively loose, so the fabric will not collapse too tightly when pressed against the stones below. When I was sleeping with my companions, the stone was placed in the middle and we both slept on our sides, haha. Of course, if the curvature is too large and you are afraid of breaking the tent pole, you can replace it with branches like above.
